Anyone notice how much action heroes have changed in the movies?
Going back to the 80′s — your average action star looked more like a superhuman. Take Arnold, Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren for example. It was all about being manly, bulging with muscles, and doing crazy stuff like punching out a camel and getting up after being shot several times.
Nowadays, we seem to have a fascination with kick-ass fighting girls (like Mila Jovovich, Uma Thurman, and Carrie Anne Moss). Could it be that the 1980′s was a kind of “golden era” for bodybuilding action stars like Rambo – who apparently can take out a whole army all by himself?
I miss those days!
The Rock & Vin Diesel are pretty big but never really play the one man wrecking machine like the action stars of the 80′s.
Even TV was the same, look at the A-Team for example.
