Babys First

What did you do for your babys first birthday?

I was just curious what other mothers have done for there babys first birthday my son’s is coming up and i want something small just family friends at my home i want a theme but is it really that appropriate for a first birthday? Idea’s please

My son is turning one in 11 days. I am going with the Mod-Monkey theme, it is really adorable. Of course, it is mostly for the adults though.
I am having a small get together as well. He will have his “own” cake to smash into, and we will have a simple lunch.
I am also taking an old formula can, with a slit on the top of the lid, and decorating it as a “time capsule” I read about it online. It is where all your friends and family writes a note to baby regarding their wishes for your child, hopes, dreams, etc. Then we will re-open it and read all of the notes on his 16th birthday.
I also read someone a month ago posted that they played a game where all the adults lifted the child up and guessed their weight, whoever was closest to the childs actual weight wins a prize. Take a picture while each adult holds your child, and include it in the Thank-You’s that you send out to that person.
