DVDs – How Much Could You Save?
How many DVDs do you buy a year? You probably buy more than you think – whether you buy all the latest releases or just a few DVDs a year I bet you also buy some for other people as birthday presents or stocking-fillers at Christmas. When you add them up, too, it probably comes to more than you thought.
Now you know how many you buy, do you know how much they cost? Maybe you also got a box set or two, which will bump the value of them all up. E.g. that Friends Box Set you’d always wanted? Did you buy them all from the same shop, too? Perhaps you thought that they sold the cheapest DVDs so you were happy to pay their price?
It may not surprise you to know that no shop is always the cheapest, not even Amazon! But did you know that they can often vary in price significantly? Even the latest movie releases can vary in price by over 50% between the cheapest and most expensive shops! That’s a large amount even on a single movie DVD – if you’re buying a box set then the price difference can be enormous! You may not always be so concerned when buying a single DVD, but if you think how much extra you’re spending over the course of a year then it adds up to an amount that I’m sure you’d prefer to save and spend on something else too!
So, now you know that by shopping around you can save a huge amount of money per year on DVDs. But it must be hard work, mustn’t it? There are so many shops selling DVDs online – to visit them all checking their price really isn’t worth the effort, is it? Well, you’re half right! If you have to do it yourself then no, you could argue that it wasn’t worth the time taken to log on to all the different sites. Maybe you’d check a couple, but not 20 or 30 DVD shops – that’d be silly!
