Do they still make VHS tapes (aka videotapes) and laserdiscs? Can someone please help me out?

VHS tapes were commonly used in the ’80s and ’90s, and laserdiscs were in use since the ’80s.

Did they graduate these things? I’m just curious. People commolnly use DVDs and Blue Ray.
A DVD is nothing more than a compact version of a CAV laserdisc.

Laser disks haven’t been made in a long time.
New blank VHS tapes are widely available. Pre-recorded VHS tapes are no longer made.

Not really. Laser disks recorded video in an analog format. DVDs & Blu-Ray record in a digital format.

What do you mean by “graduate”?
Laser disk players were never all that popular because the technology available at that time cost too much. VHS tapes are technically obsolete, but there is a huge installed base of VCRs so it still makes economic sense to keep manufacturing blank tapes for the time being. Eventually demand for blank tapes will drop to the point where it no longer makes economic sense to manufacture them.
