How can I change DVD burning speeds?

There are different DVD speeds, like SP, EP, etc. How can I change them to fit more movies & content onto a single DVD? Is there a way to do that in Windows DVD Maker? Or do I need a special burning program?

There are different VCR speeds like that – DVDs run at a speed determined by the many things, but not content size. Burning at different speeds is needed to compensate for different dyes in the DVD (and different quality of the DVD; cheap DVDs don’t burn properly at the advertised speed – like most things, you get what you pay for). But burning at a slower speed won’t fit more on the DVD – single layer disks can fit 4.3GB, regardless of the speed you burn them at. If you need more space, go to double layer disks – DVD-R DL.
