2005 Films: Recalling The Season In Motion Pictures
The year 2005 wasn’t a particularly powerful year for film making generally speaking all over the world, and even less so for Hollywood, however, there have been a number of great moments on the giant screen, of which some are shot in green screen background.
“The Best of Youth” by Marco Tullio Giordana was made in Italy and aired there as a television miniseries. You can now get the DVD on Amazon or Netflix and get all set to hunker down for the reason that every single disc is over three hrs long, but it is well worth the time for you to become familiar with one of the finest 2005 movies produced. It shows the storyline of two brothers who take different paths in life and the women they love, with the setting of sixties radicalism and rioting.
“King Kong” by Peter Jackson is actually a flawed, excessively long effort that is even now 1 of the most outstanding films ever shot and all due to the characterization of the ape by the actor who portrayed him (yes there’s an actor, but absolutely no monkey suit). This remake of the 1933 black and white classic is actually great after the 1st uninteresting hour. This particular 2005 features celebrities Jack Black and Naomi Watts.
“Batman Begins” was superb and stars Christian Bale. This particular motion picture will be dark but fiercely realistic. The Batman here is no superhero, only a man on a mission. Really suspenseful and that made this among the 2005 motion pictures that you cannot forget. This was also the prequel if you know of 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.
“Sin City” with Mickey Rourke is among the most visually spectacular 2005 movies with its larger than life film noir look along with comic book stylizations.
“A History of Violence” directed by David Cronenberg and featuring Vigo Mortensen was bloody and vicious, but in addition suspenseful and stuffed with shock twists.
“Wallace and Gromit – The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” was the best of the 2005 motion pictures to showcase animation, and claymation at that. Even though created for children, the wit is good for adults at the same time. Very funny.
“Kung Fu Hustle” directed and featuring the hilarious and twisted Kwok Kuen Chan still positions as one of the funniest and weirdest 2005 movies and is really worth leasing. This is the same movie director who introduced us the really amusing “Shaolin Soccer”.
“War of the Worlds” featuring Tom Cruise was noteworthy for wonderful effects but continues too long. The finish sequence is just plain uninteresting. The first hour though is great and will keep you on the side of your chair.
These are just several of the greatest 2005 flicks that may have used green screen and you’ll definitely have your favorite. Have the popcorn prepared, time for movie night!

Newsies $4.55 Arguably one of the oddest films to emerge from the modern Disney Entertainment empire, this scrappy 1992 live-action musical tells the tale of a turn-of-the-last-century labor uprising among New York City’s newsboys (or “Newsies”)–an especially ironic topic given the Mouse House’s own historical labor relations problems. It was also a valiant attempt to revive the glory days of the Hollywood mus… |

I’m Not There $7.95 Many people have covered Bob Dylan’s songs over the years, but few quite like this. On the double-disc soundtrack that accompanies Todd Haynes’ extremely confounding biopic of the already plenty confounding folk icon, we get the likes of Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Yo La Tengo, the Hold Steady, and Antony & The Johnsons doing their best Dylan impressions and often failing gloriously. Former Pavement f… |

Newsies: 20th Anniversary Edition [Blu-ray] $18.95 Except for feature-length animation, the musical has gone the way of the dinosaur. The Walt Disney company took a stab at reviving the live-action musical in 1992 with Newsies, a throwback picture with a curious subject. In 1899, the pint-sized newsboys delivering the New York papers go on strike against the unfair practices of news magnates Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. The product… |

Flowers of War [Blu-ray] $21.99 Fans of Chinese-born director Zhang Yimou (Raise the Red Lantern, House of Flying Daggers) know how immersive his films are, how exquisitely, passionately of a place they are. The Flowers of War is set during the Rape of Nanking, the epic 1937 battle of the Japa… |
