why can’t the simpsons go back to old school humor when most ppl agree they classic episodes are funnier?

stark raving dad (aka the michael jackson episode), homers triple bypass, lisa’s 1st word were all great episodes

the new stuff like behind the laughter are just plain stupid.

I agree! I love all the old seasons up until about the 8th season. The humor seems to degrade after that. I’m not sure I want to continue purchasing the Simpsons on DVD. The episodes start to get bad in the 9th season and get progressively worse. Don’t get me wrong they’re a few good episodes here and there after the 8th season. The latest episodes however are horrible. I don’t even laugh when watching them. The humor now is completely different and it’s not working. I think the show should wrap it up before it gets any worse.
