3D Polarized Glasses for Specialized Three Dimensional Viewing
3D polarized glasses have become the much desired option for viewing three dimensional images. Invented way back in the 19th century, the 3D glasses have become very popular these days especially with many film makers opting for 3D movies, for a greater effect. Apart from movies, you can also view slide shows, multi-media displays, concerts, movies, and ride simulators with these glasses that contain specialized viewing filters.
So, how are the 3D polarized glasses different from anaglyph ones? Well, the images in these glasses produce a full-color picture that is considerably comfortable to the eye compared to the former variety. Moreover, they are not subject to binocular rivalry, which is the case with a low quality anaglyph glasses. However, the polarized glasses are not without their share of disadvantages. The first factor that has made critics go against them is that they are too costly. In fact, it is seen that even the low cost ones normally cost 50% more than the red-cyan filters.
What are the different varieties of these polarized glasses? Generally, these are available both as linear and circular polarized 3D glasses. In a layperson’s understanding both the glasses offer the same viewing effect, the only difference being that while in the linear you cannot tilt/move your head, which would lead to the images of the left and right channels to ‘bleed’ over to the opposite channel, while the latter allows sufficient head movement. Hence, the circular ones are most widely used these days. Only older 3-D movies have linear polarized lenses.
Where can you use 3D polarized glasses? As has already been mentioned these glasses are usually used in movies. Prior to that, they were used extensively in that offer an amazing 3Dexperience. However, unlike what most people accept as true- you can’t watch polarized 3d on televisions or monitors. Also, 3D movies in the theater are better than their DVD home theater counterparts. This is because the vast majority of TVs at home cannot output polarized light, which leaves the user with two options other than polarized 3D glasses i.e. the use of the red-blue anaglyph glasses, or cumbersome shutter glasses which require fair amount of synchronization between the glasses and the TV. The reason for the huge popularity of 3D glasses is that they easily fit over eyeglasses and are more like a pair of sunglasses with plastic frames.
How to get genuine quality 3D polarized glasses? Well, with their huge demand all over the world, there are a number of manufacturers that produce these glasses. However, it is very important that you get genuine linear or circular polarized 3D glasses for better effect. The internet is a great source with many branded varieties taking orders online.
