Derby Stallion

Stuff To Enjoy At Churchill Downs
At the Kentucky Derby, you might enjoy hearing the names of the stallions, such as Watch Me Go, Pants On Fire and Stay Thirsty, better than the real horse show. 2011’s champion’s name that played out in the grandstands was Animal Kingdom. Even if you just lost all your money, you have to crack up at that name.
And always, there are all the pre-race games and festival. It starts the last couple weeks in April, just prior to the main show. The fireworks are the beginning of the festivities every year and you can see them sitting in a car or watch them up close in the stadium bleachers. The next few days are filled with soccer, baseball and volleyball to be enjoyed by all, not just the sports fans. Do not forget to head back to the grandstands to enjoy some of the great musical events. These shows are always going. You may select country or jazz or maybe rock, or go dance to them all.
Then, there is a race which is the only one to include racing riverboats; the Great Steamboat Races. Almost everything is of no cost and there is continuously something to do. There is a large array of activities to choose from . So show up and have a great time.
Other than the races, the next big thing is in the judging women enter the grandstands. What’s this about? Because of the caps.
There were more odd fashion hats this time than at the royal wedding. Jennifer Tilly, known for her acting and voice over jobs, started the procession with what looked like a snake on top of a plum colored saucer . Then there was sports journalist and “Dancing with the Stars” former contestant Erin Andrews, whose hat was so enormous she looked like she had trouble keeping her head up. And let us not forget “Kate Plus8” celeb-mom Kate Gosling who seemed to have a lamp shade covered in feathers upside-down upon her head. Finally, the reality wannabe star Aubrey O’Day, who was acting her best to look classy in a way-too-busy black and white mess on top of her head that integrated too many bows.
There are a bunch of things to do in the grandstands: bet, watch a horse race or be entertained by the weird choice of hats the fashion victims have chosen. Who can wait until next year’s show, er, race.
