Do you think Doctor Zhivago (THE BOOK) would make a suitable teen read?

Once again, I’m referring to the BOOK, not the movie. I’ve read it and liked it a lot… but I’m curious: do you think the, say, above-average teenage reader would **enjoy** the novel? I’m not asking in regards to its maturity content. I want to know if someone around 16-18 years of age (who’s bright and well-read) would read it and actually appreciate its profoundness. And no, *not* for school, before anyone asks. As a personal read. Thanks.

Definitely, that is the right age to read it. It opens the eyes to that period and is a great love story.
Not something you are too keen to read in your 60s, I would say.
It deals with idealism, which appeals to teenagers.
