Why Does My DVD Player Play Audio Out Of Sync!?

Hi everyone,I hope someone can help me here.
I have a Panasonic SA-PT870 Home Cinema system.
Over the last few days I have been watching some copied DVD videos which play great until about 15 minutes in when the audio suddenly goes about 0.5 seconds out of sync with the video,at first I just thought they were simply bad copies but then realised that when I pause the DVD & press play again the audio goes straight back to being fine, this happens again after probably another 10-15 minutes until I press pause/play again.
Can anybody help me please? Have I got the DVD player settings wrong or something?
All help will be really appreciated.

There is a delay setting in the menu of your DVD player. You have to play around with it until the sound and picture sync. Some H/T receivers also have this option.-
