Sony KDL52W4100 Review

I purchased this TV in the late 2008 and I think it’s a really great purchase.

Some people said that the tv set has issues while the dark shades are switching. I looked at this in the store for couple of minutes and have used it for a month and I haven’t seen any sign of that issue. This is a super sharp TV with superior colors and strong black tones. This TV is so much improved than the old Sony W model.

Here are the the reasons why you should buy this TV. It has a extremely good image in high definition and does a flawless job in Analog transmission much better than some other televisions I have seen. For that it’s respossible a good technology from Sony named DSP which is essentially noise reduction technology. Sony of course knows Blu-ray because they invented it, they are familiar what skin tones should look like I mean they hold a movie studio, the tv menus are truly comfortable to use, it has a built in TV guide and it has can be upgraded.

Image quality is very near Samsung in digital broadcast. I looked at both televisions side by side. Samsung is slightly better on clarity in SD. Samsung is more shiny, Sony is a matte cover but darks on Samsung are pretty good because of the glossy screen. When viewing a Blu-ray disc,Sony has a bit more details. No fade from white to black issues on Sony as some reviews has noted. Colors are nice and vivid as Sony Bravia two engine is great, perhaps even better than XBR engine.I’ve found that the Z series is better but there aren’t 52” models

Tv menus on Samsungs are made for experts with a lots of tweeks, but really it’s clouded for average user. If you doubt that, get the user manual for the Samsung LN52A650 and for Sony KDL524100 and see the difference. If you are technical individual, then buy Samsung. If you don’t like to mess around, but get an outstanding picture, you should buy Sony. Ths Sony TV is really easy to use, but also it it will find you channels itself and is like having a built in cable box.

The Sony television may not have the Ethernet connector and built in weather like the series 6 from Samsung, but it does have the built in TV guide and upgrade possibility. But, if you want internet connection in your TV, you are better off connecting an external device. The TV guide option in this tv set is outstanding and the Sony Bravia Sync is nice particularly when you are using a Sony DVD converter for 1080p. Picture in Picture technology is super as well because it’s allowing you to view image from HDMI and at the same time watch cable TV.

For me favorite characteristic on Sony KDL52W4100 is the on/off button on the top side as this is preventing children from turning off televison. Also a good thing is the remote on the Sony as it is really simple to use.

So, if you want the a very clear image, easy to use LCD TV with characteristics that makes every day television watching fulfilling and easy. This Sony KDL52W4100 is outstanding selection.
