all you xbox 360 owners out there?
i’m planning on getting an xbox 360 because my birthday is coming up. i already have 150 dollars i’ve earned working around the neighborhood. i want
- the xbox 360 pro (recently dropped from $300 to $250)
- an additional controller ($50)
- halo 3 ($40)
- year subscription to live ($50)
for a total of $390 and about $23 tax.now, here comes the actual question(s).
1. should i upgrade to xbox 360 elite? it’s $50 dollars difference, but i could use that on more games.on the other hand, i’ve heard the quality is amazing.
2. why is their xbox live gold cards? is there a silver card?
3. what other accessories should i get?
please, no answers like “get up off your butt and exercise”, i just broke my leg skateboarding and the doctor said i’ll be out for 3 months and i need some entertainment.
Here’s the thing. I own an elite and am saying don’t get one. The pro has 60 GB of storage on the hard drive, in my opinion all you really need with is around 50, unless you are going to be burning all of your future games onto the hard drive and playing them off of that rather than the disc (you still have to have the disc loaded in the tray for liscencing but anyway…) The only real advantage was that initially the elite was the only xbox that came with an HDMI output for HDTV’s, now however ALL DO. So really the only difference is the Hard Drive.
Now speaking in the elites defense, I’ve had mine for over 2 years and never had a problem. I would save up to get the wireless adapter for the xbox ($89) rather than the elite. I have to have mine hard lined to my router and I know people may disagree with me but I have three friends that I always play halo with, all three have the wireless adapters and never have problems in game, unless we all do.
And finally don’t buy halo 3 if you can avoid to, HALO: ODST comes out sept. 21 with all of the online multiplayer for halo 3 on a separate disc. Which means unless you’re into the campaign then there’s no need for it. Plus there is the new and improved graphic and campaign disc for The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and it’s supposed to be a good game. Again HDMI comes in all, HDD you only need around 50 GB anyways, and the extra money could go towards that wireless adapter. And the kid who said it has better graphics is a dumb ass.
