Is Final Fantasy VII absolutely incredable, or just a cult classic?

I’m currently playing Final Fantasy VII (PC) at the moment, and I do love it, but I feel like I get the same emotional attachment to the other games as well. My guess is that it’s so loved is because of the time it was released.

At the time of its release, it was an incredible game. The graphics, especially the GC, was ahead of its time. I don’t think anyone expected the PSX to be capable of such graphics.

I think the game is a cult classic. By today’s standards, the game isn’t all that impressive.
