any books about first hand encounters from a Marine at Iwo Jima?
i’m trying to look for books about Iwo Jima, written by a US Marine about his experiences and such.

Try looking at “flags of our fathers”. It was not written by a marine but but by the son of one of the marines who rose the US flag at the summit of Iwo Jima. It has a lot of history and perspective from several marines during the battle. I’m sure you’ll find it very interesting.
