Full Moon

Does the full moon start on late Monday night or Tuesday night?

I read that there is suppose to be a full moon on Dec. 21st, so does that mean that it will be on late Monday night-at midnight when its officially Tuesday or does it mean that there will be a full moon on Tuesday night?
