The government is fighting an “alien” lifeform that they decide to call angels. They use godzilla sized mobile weapon suits to combat the threat. The only people able to withstand the suits side effects are young 16 -18 year old teenagers. And even then it’s very rare to find someone capable. Eventually it becomes increasingly more difficult to determine whether the “angels” were actually sent from god to destroy mankind or whether they are simply aliens. The ending is too confusing to explain. Great show though.
