What is it about the GOP that makes it appeaing primarily to grumpy old men?

Don’t get me wrong–I’m old myself! I’m just not grumpy, and I definitely don’t identify with anything at all with which the current Republican party identifies (especially the likes of Sarah Palin).

they have lost the idea that life can be better if we work at it. this world has turned them into the mongering, embittered, and combative misers they are. they have forgotten that things can be better if we work at it. that we can at some point attempt to work together as humans and make life better for everyone. it doesn’t happen over night, but like building a house one brick at a time. perhaps they have just been overcome by this world. i have learned to accept the sadness, madness, and cruelty of this world without allowing it to turn me. i am a liberal, but that does not mean i won’t do whatever is necessary to do what needs to be done. i simply haven’t allowed myself to forget how to dream of the world that can be while dealing with the world that is. grumpy old conservatives have forgotten. in short they have given in to the nothing.
