And Hulkmania Goes Huffing and Puffing

The Hogan that ruled the day

Don’t you miss the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan days? Where the main storyline revolves on a beat up hero who was apparently hit with by an exposed steel turn buckle, or a chair on the head while the referee was “accidentally” hit (and lying on the floor unconscious) by the other wrestler.

The villain tries to pin the hero which happens to be Hulk Hogan. He then tries to wake the dazed ref lying on the canvass. Poor Ref does nothing. On the other side, you see Hogan panting his breath off, saliva jolting up and landing on his face, half opened eyes, he just lies there.

During this time, the intensity builds, as the Ref slowly awakens from his slumber, the villain then gets excited and grabs the ref towards Hogan, and pins him. The Ref then counts with all his might One! …pausing…taking his breath and gathers his strength to take another slap on the canvass, Two! …….does the same thing, but this time before the hand of the ref can touch the canvass Up comes the raised hand of Hogan. The villain then tries to kick and punch Hogan. Apparently, every kick and punch somehow makes dear old Hogan stronger.  He then does his squiggly dance of power! Still, he gets a beating from the opponent, surprisingly alarmed of what is happening.

Finally, after the strongest punch from the opponent, Hogan stands up straight, eyes wide and gives a gesture to the opponent. One more punch from his opponent is made, but….Hogan catches it. Pushes the opponent away, steps back and hurls himself to the ropes, and hurls back to give a smashing a clothesline to the opponent who suddenly flies off the air, dropping hard on the canvass and gets pinned while everyone chants, One! Two! Three!!!! and then riot breaks loose.

These are the days of my youth from wrestling matches. Is it the same now?
