How long after closing on a home to ask for a home improvement loan?

I just closed on a house on Friday, 9/17/10. The house is in need of some repairs but simply do not have the money to do so rightnow. Is it too early to apply for a home improvement loan or any other type of loan to try to come up with 10,000.00 to get a loan?
I have some equity..My loan was 100,000 and my house was appraised at over 145,000. Don’t know if this helps.

There are literally 100′s of variables here. I personally wait til 2011 and talk to your bank.
You may have more value in your home (equity) than you know
