List Of Scary Movies That Do Not Suck

Horror flicks, of which some have used green screen backgrounds, have invariably been the favorite genre of the many flick enthusiasts worldwide. However horror motion pictures don’t receive the admiration from movie critics that other genres receive. It’s very tough to come up with a really good and frightening horror film. The listing of horror flicks that are actually any good is not very long. Slasher motion pictures attempted to replace horror films about 20 years ago but those aren’t genuine horror motion pictures. On any listing of scary motion pictures that do not suck you’ll find several really terrifying films that used green screen. Here is my listing of horror movies that are worth watching.

“Rosemary’s Baby” might be a bit dated nowadays and may certainly not give you the kind of chills it did when it initially came out, but it’s still among the really great atmospheric motion pictures ever made and still can creep you out. “Psycho” might have been the very first slasher flick but it’s a true scary picture and has all of the old trademarks of great horror flicks plus a dangerous and corny contemporary setting that everyone who has ever spent the nights at a roadside motel can confirm.

“The Exorcist” obviously is still at the top on anyone’s list of horror movies that do not suck. If you have never watched it, then you have to to drop anything and everything that you are working on and go buy it right now. Put it on your big flat screen tonight and see it with someone else that has never watched it. It’s still the most disturbing and seriously scary film ever made by a longshot and will certainly keep you awake for many evenings to come. This particular flick is unquestionably not for young kids and not for the faint of heart. It’s very brutal and also disturbing.

“The Blair Witch Project” was probably the top grossing movie in history in any genre because it cost so very little to make and yet made billions of dollars. Making use of handheld shaky video cameras the film is a mock documentary about a group of students filming a documentary on the well-known “Blair Witch” in the Maryland forest. The 3 students go missing deep in the forest and encounter a number of truly terrifying things out there. Without spoiling it you should stick with this one till the very end.

2009’s Blair Witch Project was a bit of independent movie called “Paranormal Activity” and is about a suburban couple who find their San Diego residence haunted by an evil demon (are there some other kinds?) and they again make use of handheld digital cameras and night vision cams to film the ghostly circumstances. This is a flick that begins slowly but develops to a surprising final act. This picture joins our listing of horror flicks that do not suck because it will definitely terrify you. The majority of the directors of these motion pictures have moved on to greater glory outside the independent horror arena. Directors like Ethan and Joel Coen (The Big Lebowski) and Sam Raimi (Spiderman) have began in the independent horror world only to discover themselves with big Hollywood careers.
