James Whitmore

Will you join me in saying RIP to James Whitmore?

I know, it’s not a political question. But Whitmore was known for portraying political figures, particularly Harry Truman. His performance in a one man play about Truman, “Give ‘em Hell, Harry! ” was terrific.

Yeah, I liked him. He reminded me a little of George C. Scott. I remember, long, long ago, watching him in “The Law and Mr. Jones.” Good program, but I guess it got lost in the crowd of lawyer shows that were popular at that time.

He also had the misfortune to be in a few terrible movies. “The Harrod Experiment.” And wasn’t he in “Black Like Me”?

I never saw him as Truman, wish I had.
