Get Into The Kitchen And Live It Up
Too many of us women expend our energies on sabotaging ourselves. We look at our bodies and see every tiny detail and analyze our failings to the n-th degree. So you might have a bit of cellulite. So you might not have six pack abs. So what? Throw away the weight loss books and stop punishing yourself at the gym and start living life.
So stop the constant comparisons of your figure against say Naomi Campbell’s and just start enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Take joy in the fact that you have a body that works for you, even if it does not have perfect dimensions according to Vogue magazine.
Yes, you need to do some form of exercise regularly, because it keeps you healthy, makes your skin glow and also releases endorphins, which make you happy. No, your exercise regimen does not have to rule your life. Accept yourself as you are and your self confidence will grow in leaps and bounds and you will probably live longer. No matter how critical you are of yourself, you should be able to list at least a couple of things that you like about your physical appearance. When you have done that focus on remembering them and highlighting them in your dress sense and the way you carry yourself.
OK, so now that you feel a bit better about your body, you have permission to ditch the diet (they don’t work anyway) and start loving food again. Food is one of the greatest pleasures in life. For this articles purposes, fast food and junk food are not counted as ‘food’. We mean real quality stuff.
As well as eating yummy food, cooking for others can be a very pleasurable experience. Why not extend your skills and take some private cooking classes? This is a great way to develop your skills in the kitchen as well as trying new foods and combinations.
On top of this you will learn about nutrition and be able to prepare more healthy and delicious foods for yourself and your family. Eating better is a much more effective way to manage your weight than going on diets and weight loss fads.
So this is a call to arms to rise up against oppressive celery sticks and rigid gym going and fat measuring. Live a life that is filled with joy and acceptance of yourself and you will probably be healthier and fitter, but definitely happier.
