Should we help people with rare hereditary diseases live longer?

Isn’t it better if these people don’t have children so that humanity has a better genetic pool? If we help them live longer, some of them have children and pass their disease on.

There are many genetic defects that are not hereditary in nature. Besides, if you eliminate every carrier of a genetic deficiency, there wouldn’t be any humans left in the not-so-distant future.
