Dolls for Presents are Out!
My daughter was close to celebrating her birthday, and I was at a loss as to what present to get her. Knowing her, I figured she wouldn’t like dolls as much, thinking she’s too old for them, but I knew no other presents she’d like. My wife had no ideas so I had to find something good on my own, and take responsability in case it was a failure.
I started browsing all the shops I could find, from toy stores, to modern electronics stores. I didn’t have a lot of money available, either, so I needed something cheap and fun. I was running out of time when I spotted something that looked interesting enough for her, and wasn’t more expensive than a couple of dolls.
The salesman explained everything I needed to know about the Sandisk 1GB Sansa Shaker and I bought it, hoping she would like it. Along the way, I started looking at it, and wondering if it actually works. I decided to try it out, to see if it wasn’t defective, of course. I had so much fun with it that I went back and bought another one, but this time, for myself.
I arrived in time for the birthday party, and handed her my gift, feeling very proud of my choice. Her reaction showed me I had made the right choice, as she loved it from the moment she saw it. After filling it with songs, and understanding how to use it, she started taking it everywhere with her. She wouldn’t even let me borrow it, telling me she needed it.
My wife called me crazy when she heard I’d bough another player, for myself. I ignored her and have since realized that it has been one of my best decisions. I’m even using it at work, to listen to my favorite music, whenever I have the time.
