Music arranging – Getting permission to arrange a copyrighted tune?
So I recently finished a transcription & arrangement of a tune by the Pat Metheny Group…
obviously the tune is still copyright-protected, so I’m wondering how to get permission from the copyright owner to have my chart legally “arranged” and/or copyrighted as an arrangement.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I also found out how to get permission (from the Metheny website), but the form leaves one item blank: how much to pay Metheny’s and Lyle Mays’ publishers for permission.
