Universal remote nightmare. Trying to match a RCA model (RCR430S) with RCA DVD player (DCR427N)?
I’ve been trying without much luck, to match my DVD player with the new universal remote that I’ve bought. I can get a matching code to give me the ability to fast forward or rewind the previews, press play, stop, but I don’t have the arrow function to maneuver around the on-screen menu or skip scenes. I have tried using the auto search, since I was a royal tool, and lost the codes list, which isn’t available for DL on the RCA website. I can’t seem to get the right one. I am now manually searching through all of the codes to see which one works, doesn’t seem worth the 12$ I spent. I hope maybe someone has the time to scan their codes list, if they see this, or would happen to know the one code (which would be a miracle) to save me from this!!! Thanks to all who took the time to read 
Sorry but all URMs suck. most can’t give you control like the stock remote could and that’s IF you can even get the dang thing to work with your product. I hope you get your answer because I was in the same boat as you and ended just giving up and buying a brand new VHR/DVD recorder.Good luck.
