Modine Bible

Jews, Christians, have any of you seen the TNT Bible Movies?

Have any of you seen the TNT made for TV movies about the Original Testament? I really like them.

Do you think they are good interpretations? I really like their dramatic interpretations of the story between the text.

The costumes seem good and they often use good actors.

I am not a Jew or Christian but I enjoyed the first one I saw so much that I bought the box set.

I haven’t watched any of those, but that’s because I hold a certain amount of skepticism regarding any film that’s based off of Scripture. I just find myself rolling my eyes at the inaccuracies and it ruins the experience for me. (And yes, I even rolled my eyes a few times during “The Passion of the Christ.”)

The last such film I watched was “One Night with the King,” which is based on the Book of Esther. It was actually pretty good (DESPITE the inaccuracies), but I remember thinking, “gee, I don’t remember the Book describing Xerxes as looking like he stepped out of a Bow Flex commercial!” So yeah, it was a bit of a “chick flick.”
