Downtown Hotels In Los Angeles

So youre going to LA.. One of the most talked about and dynamic metropolises in the world. But where are you going to stay? Let me assist you.

In my opinion there is no other place to stay in Los Angeles than downtown. In the heart of this vibrant and busy city. From downtown you can walk to many attractions and walking is arguably the best way to experience a city. To smell and hear and feel what goes on around you. And in Downtown LA there is a lot going on.

My recommendation for Downtown Hotels in LA are -

1. Chateau Marmont-This historic hotel is like a time capsule dating back to the golden era of Hollywood. Filled with antique furniture and fittings. Situated above the bustling Sunset Strip the hotel is centrally located yet calm and quiet. Each suite is unlike any other at the Chateau Marmont. Many hollywood celebrities have been guests here from James Dean and Natalie Wood to more recent celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Keanu Reeves. In 1982 John Belushi o.d.ed and passed away here in one of the bungalows.

2. The Standard Hotel-This Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles will make you feel like a rockstar. In the lobby or up at the rooftop bar enjoying a cocktail or relaxing on one of the vibrating water beds. You could be mingling with unfeigned rock stars and celebrities, who are often guests here. A great retro themed hotel it is situated near Rodeo Drive for all your exclusive shopping and also to several tourist attractions like The Staples Center, The Nokia Theater and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

3. The Marriott Downtown-Upon entering the enormous lobby of this luxury hotel with its original art and crystal chandeliers you realize that this place is out to impress. The rooms all have large floor to ceiling windows that provide a breath taking view of the LA skyline. As they say there is nothing like a Marriott bed. Its quality all the way here from the gift shops with their extravagant bling and designer baggage to the many barrooms and eating places.

4. The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows-You can not mistake this hotel as you approach. Its Spanish Colonial style and its color. . lets just say pinkish. Opened around the 1920s this milestone hotel sits on 12 acres of well tendered gardens with all style of exotic plants. You can lean back on a shay sofa by the tremendous out of door pool and contemplate upon a bygone era. There are 204 rooms in this hotel and all are furnished in a classic plush style. Four poster beds and granite bathrooms and some bungalows have hearths and separate living rooms.

So remember to try a downtown hotel on your next visit to LA.. You wont regret it.

The winner of 10 Academy Awards, this 1961 musical by choreographer Jerome Robbins and director Robert Wise (The Sound of Music) remains irresistible. Based on a smash Broadway play updating Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to the 1950s era of juvenile delinquency, the film stars Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer as the star-crossed lovers from different neighborhoods–and ethnicities. The film’s real…
