Backup Your DVD’s with Official DVD Shrink Gold
So you have a DVD you like and want to back up this information? It is very easy to make and cost you nothing except the price of a blank DVD. First, make sure you have enough disk space to hold all the DVD (or the parts you want to record.) Usually, this is about 4 GB, more or less a concert. You also need a DVD burner and a DVD-R. Oh, and you need a program to rip, record and recode the final DVD.
First, you must open the video file, you can find the DVD folder, usually called VIDEO_TS. Rip (copy) the files in this folder on your hard drive. Some DVDs have protection built in duplicate, but you can circumvent this protection using a any program.
Then you select the files you want on your DVD copy. Some people prefer to copy only the movie and not notice, subtitles or extra features. It is simply a faster and burn a cleaner copy thereafter. After creating your build, the program will then need to recode the files, you can copy and use them in a DVD player. Depending on the size of the original DVD and how you choose to put on your copy, the program may be necessary to compress the files so they all fit on the final DVD.
