How do you think Oliver Stone’s experiences have affected the films he has made?

A lot of people, especially men who were boys in 1963 were shattered when Jack Kennedy was murdered. I remember thinking that “It can’t be true. He’s gonna be alright. God won’t let him die.” But he did. I’m sure that that was what was behind “JFK.”

His father may have lost a fortune during the 80s, but I think that Stone was fore-seeing the collapse of the market, and warning us that Gordon Gekko was SO wrong in “Wall Street.” Greed is NOT good. Any school kid knows what happens to greedy people: they become the 43rd president.

Any idiot knows what kind of an idiot becomes 43rd president, and so did Stone in “W.” I think that the message here was the same as in “Forrest Gump” (the book at least) : Any idiot can become president if the corporations decide to spend enough money on the campaign.
