The jazz event of the year will take place in Cassino: Bollani and Rava on stage
The Atina Jazz Festival was founded in 1986 by Vittorio Fortuna, under whom the slogan “Per Fortuna che c’è il jazz” (Fortunately there is jazz). The event is already start with the evenings preview July 16 to 18 during in which various artists that have performed, like the Grand Four with the show called Tour of Italy, the Loko Motive Trio with Migration and Paolo Damiani with Rita Marcotulli. Already renowned in the international scene this year is shaping up as the most prestigious of all year thanks to the presence of great artistic personalities internationally renowed and thanks to the many parallel activities that involve the small towns all around and will range in different types of events aimed to know and appreciate good quality music even to the general public.
It ‘just between these initiatives “side” that are on the events that take place in Cassino, details for their originality as the Demo Jazz Awards, a competition for emerging bands, concert and waiting Stefano Bollani and Enrico Rava that perform Saturday, Aug. 1. Known by all as one of the best jazz musicians alive, Bollani was born in Florence and graduated from the conservatory in 1993 and after a brief stint in pop music finds its realization in the jazz scene. A unique talent that led him to collaborate with the best international artists as Gato Barbieri, Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, Michel Portal, Paolo Fresu, Bennik Han and Phil Woods. Great collaborations that led him to win numerous awards internationally since the beginning of 1998 it is the award of magazine Musica Jazz and the 2007 European Prize for best musician. But within the Italian context is that the pianist is the pinnacle of his compositions with his mentor, trumpeter Enrico Rava His collaboration more fruitful, however, is with his mentor, trumpeter Enrico Rava. In fact in 2008 he received a nomination for best jazz album for “Third Man” at the Italian Jazz Awards. The duo-Rava Bollani is internationally recognized as one of the best live performances not only in the Italy, but also in Europe. The quality, intensity and skill of the two musicians makes every concert to be a unique and unrepeatable because of their unpredictability that every time spans in different melodies with a natural passion. The exhibition at Cassino is a unique opportunity to witness this spectacle not only for jazz fans but also for tourists staying in hotels Cassino or people who accidentally happened to be in those areas of ciociaria. Just the location of the landscape becomes fact Cassino flagship event that become history thanks to monumental works of Roman not to be missed as the Roman Amphitheatre, the Roman Theatre, the Roman street, the mausoleum and the Terme.
And the concert fits perfectly with the site, making it part of the show itself. Bollani and Rava it will perform in the beautiful setting of the Roman Theatre, the same venue last year was by Gino Paoli, which by itself creates an atmosphere of dialogue between the audience and the artist.
