How can i get surround sound out of my playstation 3 blue ray movie?
i can get surround sound for all my PS3 games and DvD movies
i have HDMI cable hooked from my PS3 to my plasma tv, and i have digtal opitcal cable from the PS3 to my back of my surround system?
Only my blue ray movies does not get full surround sound, and doesnt not use all of my speakers

It’s probably a problem with your receiver, not the PS3. An optical cable will either send a signal or not, so if you’re hearing something then the cable is working.
It could be decoding a different stream for Blu-Ray than DVD – check your receiver settings if there’s a way to manually change from Dolby ProLogic to DTS, or from 5.1 to 2.0, etc. You could also change the audio options on the disc – some discs have both Dolby and DTS, or it may be decoding 7.1 instead of 5.1.
