why did linkin park put somewhere i belong into their road to revolution dvd?

Actually, you will be pleased to know that there are three hidden performances on the DVD, that can only be viewed after the end of the closing credits, one of which is Somewhere I Belong.

Watch the DVD or fast forward to the end, past the criminal warnings and everything. Then a screen will come up saying you have unlocked three extra songs, two from Hybrid Theory and one from Meteora, that the band actually performed at the concert but never made it to the final cut, for God knows what reason (probably because they wanted to keep the DVD as fresh and as current as possible, which I think is absolutely ridiculous since their older stuff is much better.)

The hidden songs you unlock are:

Somewhere I Belong
Papercut
and Points Of Authority

Points Of Authority should definitely have made it to the DVD set list. It begins with a killer solo rapping section performed by the one and only M Shinoda, and after the song the band does an extended section just for the mosh pit. It’s fricking insane.
