What do you know of the history of Rob Roy?

From the one view a folk hero, from another view an outlaw. personae vitae ~ Raibert Rubah or Robert the Red or Rob Roy,. Robert MacGregor was born 7 March 1671, died 28 December 1734. Follower of James Stuart (Jacobite). Fought along side his father. Later became a respected businessman. Borrowed 1,000 pounds from Duke of Montrose, a so-called trusted friend stole the money. Robert was unable to repay the loan and lost his land and cattle. Robert rented adjoining land from a political enemy of Montrose and raided Montrose to regain his wealth. He was involved with various skirmishes and had a price on his head for treason but was never captured due to the people always hdining him.
