How come Robert Englund isn’t in the new remake of Nightmare On Elm Street?

It’s not going to be the same without him. I can already tell that the movie is going to be retarded.

because hes 62 years old, and if he was in it, it wouldnt be a remake. i saw it yesterday and while it may not be up to par of the original, but it was definitely good. while he may not be Robert Englund, Jackie Earle Haley did a fantastic job on portraying Freddy. lets just put it this way, it wasnt anything like the remake of friday the 13th, it didnt rely on naked girls and drugs and stupid unrealistic gore to attract teenagers, it used good old fashion, play with your mind, horror. something Wes Craven can be proud of. i dont want to ruin the ending, so ill just say it actually went back to some of Cravens original ideas for the movie.
