How long and where to did rock n roll spread?

I need to know about the diffusion of rock n roll, How long did it take to spread? Where all did it spread to? Was the music style changed as it spread? Who all excepted the idea? Any comments would be great.

Rock N Roll really got its start in America. Probably coming out of a fusion of different types of music (blues, doo wap, juke joint songs, etc). It started with a large number of people. It spread to Europe, particularly the United Kingdom and they picked it up and did somethin great with it themselves (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc) and brought it back over here which is where we get the British Invasion from.

I am not music historian but you can say rock n roll really built it’s base up in the 1950′s and hit the world hard in the 1960′s and has been growning and changing ever since.
