Russian Movie
What do Russians think about the Russian Billionaire in the movie 2012?

Is it a good representation of rich Russian business men in real life or is it just Hollywood making fun of a stereotype of Russian people? Are you upset that his character died in the movie?

Are Russian aircraft really the best aircraft to travel on compared to American?

After living for 20 years in the US I still hate that Hollywood can never produce a truthful character when they try to portray a Russian. I understand that often they actually try to produce a certain stereotype deliberately in order to please the audience. But, even when they try to be more realistic (like in the movie “The Last Station” about Leo Tolstoy or Doctor Zhivago) they still greatly fail. Thus, as was mentioned by other responders, the guy in 2012 is a pure stereotype that has absolutely nothing to do with the way real life Russians are. I don’t think anyone feels upset about an ugly stereotype character dying in an entirely science fiction flick.

As for the aircrafts, they are not the BEST in the world, but they are good aircrafts. Most of the newer aircrafts can definitely compete with the best European and American aircrafts. When it comes to technology always think how you would compare a standard issue AK-74 to an M-4 rifle. This mentality extrapolates to other areas including aircrafts.
