Are there any good modern fantasy novels that aren’t part of a series?
My brother was looking for a book to read on a plane trip and was in the mood for a fantasy adventure, but became frustrated because every book he saw was part of a 3-10 part series.
It got me thinking: are there any good fantasy novels that run just one volume?
I asked my sister about a book she was reading called Numbers by Rachel Ward, and it’s only one volume. It’s fictional and a bit of a fantasy thriller apparently. But it’s a really interesting question, because I don’t think there are a lot of them that don’t run in a series (aside from the one i’m writing, but its a long way from getting published yet at the moment!) But yeah, anyway. Numbers. I don’t know how old your brother is, but my sister is seventeen but she said it would be suitable for any age of teenagers.
