With the lovely summer time now well and truly in the past and autumn showers to look forward to, many Londoners turn to entertainment to brighten up their raining and cold days. A theatre production that wonderfully has taken Londoners and tourists by storm over the last few years is the super Wicked. Based upon the famed Wizard of Oz book, Wicked flips the original tale on its head and tells the history and background of the 2 good and bad witches and how they became friends. Squeezed full of tremendous show songs and a hilarious script, the theatre show musical Wicked has won multiple awards and gained the hearts of multiple Londoners and tourists. For those that savour a theatre show that they can really clap and tap away to must see Stomp. Stomp is incredible and crammed full of energy. It first started back in the eighties as a very small show in Brighton and grew year after year until it gained global success. Throughout the theatre show you will observe the cast playing ordinary items to create a musical masterpiece, everyday items include cutlery and kitchen sinks. Although this is a musical show, there is unbelievably zero singing or talking, all the same you can quickly get the feel of the characters through music.
Recently adapted in the last few months to a stage version, the brilliant Shawshank Redemption has arrived in theatres in London. The show tells the tale of Andy arriving at an American prison after being convicted of killing his wife after she had an affair with another man. As a well educated gentleman, Andy is totally different from the average prisoners and offers to support a prison guard with his finances. With this prison guard on his side he becomes the prison guards accountant. The live theatre version has a very raw feeling and feels truly real to the captivated theatre lovers. The action scenes are marvellous, the stage set is truly realistic and the acting is also fantastic.
