West Side Story characters maria and tony?
I just saw west side story tthe movie and i know that the main characters in a tragedy are supposed to be “better” than the rest. How are Maria and Tony better than the rest of the other characters?
I think that the main characters in a tragedy are supposed to be better than the others, by being different from everybody else. For example, in West Side Story, Maria and Tony are “better” than everyone, because they are against the fighting, and that they think the two groups are the same ( The Sharks and the Jets). To put it simply:
The Jets and the Sharks like fighting, Maria and Tony don’t.
The Jets don’t like the Sharks because they are different from them (and vice versa), Maria and Tony think the opposite.
