Sideways Dvd

Can I use my CD/DVD drive on my pc vertical instead of horizontal?

i have a Gateway PC, it stands up, but im gonna try laying it sideways, when i do, the CD drive is sideways, can i use it sideways or does it have to be made to work vertical? please answer!

Everything will work fine in either position.

Just make sure to hold the disc in till it starts sliding in, it can fall out.
