Snatcher Dvd
Are you adequately protected from online attacks
It goes without saying that if your PC Security strategy does not include good reputable antivirus software you are severly exposed to every single virus, trojan horse, malware, spyware, keylogger, password snatcher, and any other form of nefarious underhand hacker on the planet.
Protect your livelihood by getting adequate protection – are you able to answer these three questions:
- Can my information be kept confidential;
- Can it be changed by someone other than me;
-
Can I get my information easily.
If any of the answers are NO, then all your efforts at PC Security will fail….
What does antivirus software protect against ?
A Computer Virus: is a program that can copy itself and infect a computer without your permission or knowledge. Once on your computer it can start to inflict damage to your files by running executable code or instructions.
Malware: is malicious software designed to infiltrate or damage your computer system without you knowing about it. Malware is considered to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.
Trojan Horse: is any program that invites you to run it, concealing a harmful or malicious payload. The payload may take effect immediately and can lead to many undesirable effects, such as deleting your files or further installing malicious or undesirable software. Trojan horses known as droppers are used to start off a worm outbreak, by injecting the worm into users’ local networks. One of the most common ways that spyware is distributed is as a Trojan horse, bundled with a piece of desirable software that you may have downloaded from the Internet. When the software is installed, the spyware is installed alongside.
Rootkits: conceal malware by modifying your host operating system so that the malware is hidden from you. Rootkits can prevent a malicious process from being visible in your system’s list of processes, or prevent you reading its files.
Backdoors: are a method of bypassing your computer’s normal authentication procedures. Once your system has been compromised (by one of the above methods, or in some other way), one or more backdoors may be installed to allow attackers entry. Crackers typically use backdoors to secure remote access to a computer, while attempting to remain hidden from casual inspection. To install backdoors crackers may use Trojan horses, worms, or other methods.
Phishing: happens when an e-mail arrives pretending to be from a reputable business such as the local bank and requests you to provide security details bank details, passwords, etc;
Boosting your PC Security
Don’t do any of these things:
let your browser complete your passwords automatically:
write down your passwords and leave them near your PC;
use the same password for all your logins;
allow your password to be easily guessed;
Top tips for Passwords
From the Kaspersky lab in the UK – how do you make sure that each password is unique ? – “a good solution is to use the online resource’s name as the core of the password but modify it by applying a uniform set of rules to each. This may involve swapping certain characters, adding numbers, mixing uppercase and lowercase characters and adding non alphanumeric characters to the end to make it difficult to guess. As long as you remember the method, passwords can easily be recovered.”
Do these things
Know what you are downloading: before you download anything not recommended to you check it with spyware software.
Keep windows updated: updates are part of the deal when you buy XP or Vista. Leave the automatic updates on to make life easier;
Buy and keep your internet security package current and valid: There are a variety of antivirus software packages available which you should investigate before you buy. All packages should provide you with:

Top Tip
If you are buying software supplied on a DVD check to see whether you will be affected by the Region Code – specifies the country in which the disc is designed to work.
Buy software that can be downloaded over the internet, doing it that way very often allows you to benefit from cheaper prices.

In Rainbows $7.00 On the deliriously satisfying In Rainbows, Radiohead returns to a more straight-ahead (though subdued) rock sound. Much hubbub has been made about this record’s innovative release. Radiohead allowed fans to pay what they wished to download fairly low-resolution tracks from the band’s own website. Like so many innovations, it already seems funny both that it was such big news and that someone else … |

Invasion of the Body Snatchers [VHS] $2.00 Jack Finney’s classic science fiction novel has been the basis of three big-screen adaptations, beginning with the 1956 chiller Invasion of the Body Snatchers and most recently as 1994′s underrated Body Snatchers. This acclaimed 1978 version from director Philip Kaufman (The Right Stuff) is every bit as creepy as the ’56 original, and it fits perfectly into the cycle of paranoid thrillers that thr… |
