It’s an excellent movie, a classic. If you haven’t seen it, maybe you’ve seen the Carol Burnett version? The movie itself is a drama, a tragedy really. It has famous lines in it and the stars are Gloria Swanson as a faded silent movie star who thinks she’s about due for a comeback, and William Holden as a guy who gets sucked into being a kept man. Get it on DVD. If you have any interest in films and their history, it’s a must-see. No nudity, no swearing, death, but no violence. It’s not an action picture. A story about people not dealing well with change.
