What turned you on to anime?

I’m a die hard now, have been for about 8 years. I saw some stuff before I knew it was anime like science ninja team gatchaman back in the day. The one that “turned me out” had to be DBZ. Seeing the Sayians train to fight Cell, Buu, Freiza. It was crazy, and I fell in love after that my new hobby was anime. What show series did it for you?
I agree Bleach is by far my favorite now, but It’s so many good unknown anime. Death Note was great, I miss L. Big O was good, Outlaw Star is a fav, and so is Elfen Lied.

I didn’t know it was anime back then, but in Kindergarten, I would watch DBZ a loot with my brothers, and I really liked it! It’s still one of my favorites to this day! Sometimes, we would watch Digimon too, and I thought that the main character had hair like Goku’s (only to discover years later that he had a very weak resemblance to Goku at all). At the end of these shows, we might catch a glimpse of Sailor Moon, but never watched it. All I remember is being amazed by their transformations, so I would try it too by spinning around and making myself dizzy! Whenever somebody asked me about it, I would say, “I’m transforming as Sailor Moon!”, revealing my limited understanding of Sailor Moon.

Still, I guess the anime that really turned me on the the idea of “anime” was Ranma 1/2! I first watched it in the summer before 7th grade, and I liked it so much that it was my favorite anime along with DBZ! Then, after Ranma, I started to look on the Internet for Ranma AMV”s and such, and I discovered dozens more animes along the way!

It’s all thanks to DBZ, Digimon, Sailor Moon, and Ranma 1/2 that I’m an anime/manga fan now! I hope this helps! Have a nice day!
