En route to the island, Hawkins learns about a mutinous plan and shares it with his allies, who plan for their imminent peril, outmanned and outgunned from the start. Young Hawkins, showing cunning and bravery beyond his years, triumphs as a young, inexperienced underdog turned hero. Treasure Island, with its colorful characters, perfect pirate jargon and mannerisms, and ultra-exciting plot is an amazing story, surprisingly first published in 1883.
