CD/DVD drive has disappeared?

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1545.
For a while now my disk drive has not worked. Putting a disk in does nothing, the box asking what I want to do doesn’t appear and it doesn’t show up in My Computer.
I had a look in Device Manager and it’s there, clicking plus brings up what my disc drive is called I assume (Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7580S driver) which a little yellow triangle and a ! on the icon for it.
Does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this? Or is my disc driver irreparable?

I did the update drivers thing, but it said all drivers are up to date. I didn’t know whether uninstalling the driver would do anything to my laptop, so I didn’t do that. Might try it now though. Thanks

Go back to Device Manager and Right click on your CD Drive and click “update driver software”, if you have upto date drivers then your laptop needs looking at. Usually though updating drivers does the job
